Woodland Lodge

Woodland Lodge Pool 1
Pool 1

The pools are situated to the North East of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. You need to approach the pools via Church lane.

As you drive along Church lane, you will see an Oak tree on the left with 'Woodland Lodge Park' written on it in white paint. A short way after the tree you will see the main entrance on the left, to Woodland Lodge Park.

DO NOT take this turning. A few yards further on is another track on the left that leads you down past an old caravan and round the back of the lodges.

As you come around the back of the last lodge, passing a small pond on your left, look for the steel gate to your right.

If the gate is unlocked you can use this access, but please make sure you shut all gates behind you.

If the gate is locked, use the track in the field down the left side of the gravel track, or park on the gravel area by the gate if the field is wet.

Drive to the bottom of the field and park by the small hut. This is Pool 1.

Woodland Lodge Pool 2
Pool 2

Pool 2 is over to your left in the opposite corner of the field.

Parking is on the gravel track by the side of Pool 1.

IF THE WEATHER ALLOWS, YOU CAN DRIVE TO POOL 2, but please be sensible, as we do not want to cut up the field or get cars stuck.

These two pools are stocked with a good mixture of coarse fish, including Carp to 20lbs, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Bream, Eels and Ide (for those that don't know, Ide are a member of the Orfe family, that look a little like Roach, but with large eyes). Both are 5-6ft deep and both have an island in them.

All nets to be dipped and rinsed in the bins provided, before fishing.

No fish over 3lb to be put in keepnets, unhooking mats to be used for bigger specimens.

No one is to arrive before 6am or depart after 11pm.

The club, in partnership with the land owner, have embarked on an enlargement and improvement project to pool 2. This represents a major investment by the club to create a purpose built Carp fishery. There are a number of large permanent swims, designed to give access to the island and the underwater bar/lilies and shallows. The club will also be planting both water plants like lilies & reeds, as well as bushes/shrubs and trees around the lake. The next stage will be for the club to stock a number of quality carp, all of which will be micro chipped for security. Hopefully this will see the club with a year round carp fishery, where members can night fish and target quality Mirror's and Common's of weights upwards of 20lbs. Pool 2 is now for members only. Dayticket anglers are allowed to fish pool 1 still.
