Letter From the Secretary

Dated 8th of June 2015

Spring/Summer 2015 Newsletter

Dear member,

Welcome to our 2015/16 Spring/Summer Newsletter. As mentioned in the previous Newsletter, we have secured trial night fishing on the Lower Pool at Broseley for this spring/summer (finishing on 30th September).

I also mentioned about some new stretches of the River Severn. These two stretches are just north of Worcester, around Bevere Weir and below. They are the old Blackheath AS waters, for anyone who knew their waters. Parking has yet to be confirmed, but there is a council run car park at the end of Old Northwick Lane (parking is at your own risk and KFAC accept no responsibility to any vehicles parked here). Please note there is a height restriction on the car park entrance. This gives access to the first two KFAC meadows directly to the right (upstream), giving approximately ½ mile of fishing. There are then two meadows the KFAC currently have no access to, but fishing is available to KFAC members for the 3 meadow above these (approx ½ mile of fishing) in and around Bevere weir. These include the field above the weir, the field containing Bevere Weir (except the first 100 yards below the weir sill), and the field below. We also have fishing on the big ‘weir’ island. Access to the island is via a somewhat dilapidated bridge, so please take care.

Please contact me in advance to confirm dates and book your place.

Discussions regarding the new Crucian Pool are on-going. So far the Environment Agency has done some water tests and everything is fine from that respect. They have also confirmed that they have Crucian’s available for us. All that is left is for the Club to negotiate terms with the owner. Watch this space!

Well that’s just about it from me.

All the best for a productive spring and summer’s fishing, and as always, if you have any questions or queries about the club, rules or the waters, please feel free to either drop me an email to steve_jo18@btinternet.com or call/txt 07861239335.

Regards,

Steve Williams
