Brim Pool-Dudmaston Hall

Brim Pool, Dudmaston Hall

The Brim Pool at Dudmaston Hall is the pool that most people see first or have seen when driving past. With its close proximity to the main A442 it can be noisy but the rewards are worth the wait. This pool can be cruel or be kind and is usually fished for its head of large Carp to close on 30lbs. Also present are Tench, Roach, Perch and Pike.

Any method  will catch fish but float fishing the waggler is a pleasant pastime on a summers evening. During hot weather blanket weed can be a problem and Kinver Freeliners have taken steps to combat this with the addition of Barley straw. With the weed there is a vast array of natural food and the fish do get in amongst it to feed. Hot weather will see the carp cruising and catchable on floaters.

Brim Pool is a lovely place to sit and is always capable of a surprise or two either with fish caught or wildlife present. The number of baby frogs that emerge from the water in July has to be seen to be believed.
